Notice of General Fare Increase
To All National Coach Works Commuter Customers:
This letter serves as our "Notice of A General Fare Increase", effective April 15, 2011. Since our last fare increase in July of 2009, we have continued to see increases in our cost of doing business, particularly in the areas of tires, parts, insurance, communications, and other daily operational costs. We are sensitive to pricing and have postponed this increase for several months; however, we reluctantly must now pass some of these costs on to our riders/customers. The new ticket prices are as follows:
Monthly Ticket - $290
32-punch Ticket - $240
20-punch Ticket - $215
10-punch Ticket - $140
1-day ticket - $ 24
The 32-punch, 20-punch, and 10-punch tickets expire after ninety (90) days.
Also, due to limited purchases of our 5-punch ticket, we are eliminating this ticket purchase option entirely.
Your comments and feedback are welcome and should be directed to ncwcommuterfeedback@martzgroup.com.
We will continue to work to consistently provide a safe product and quality service on a regular basis. We understand that you have multiple commuter options and we sincerely appreciate your continued patronage! Thank you.
DC-13 Route Revisions
National Coach Works, Inc. of Virginia will revise its DC-13 Commuter Route, effective Monday, March 28, 2011. This run will no longer operate as strictly a "Union Station Express" run but will add a few additional stops. Please refer to our Message Board on this webpage for the detailed changes, to include pickup/drop-off locations and times.
Thank you for your support and continued patronage!
NCW Commuter Stop - Clarification
The following information is provided to National Coach Works commuter customers regarding the 20th & E Street stop in an effort to clarify company policy regarding same:
National Coach Works drivers will allow commuter customers to disembark and embark at the 20th & E Street stop only at the Southeast corner of 20th & E Street - where the MTA routes currently pick up. This change applies to both our a.m. and p.m. runs and applies to all of our National Coach Works commuter busses. We hope that this message clarifies our policy. Thank you.
DC13 COMMUTER SCHEDULE
Effective Monday, January 31, 2011, the afternoon start time for DC13's commuter run will be 4:45 p.m. at Union Station. This is a change from the previous afternoon start time of 4:30 p.m.

Route 3 lot - 0515 hours

Customer Loyalty Program
We will include all monthly and 20-ride customers in the loyalty program. For each calendar "quarter/3 month period" we will review/count receipts from existing customers as part of a prize raffle. Each customer has the potential to have three (3) entries in the raffle, i.e., one per month/20-ride ticket purchase. First prize per quarter will be a $150 gift certificate, 2nd prize $100, 3rd prize $50.
- At the end of each calendar year, we will hold a grand prize drawing and will include all existing customers with valid ticket purchase receipts as part of the drawing. Each customer has the potential to have a maximum of twelve (12) entries in the raffle, i.e., one per month/20-ride ticket purchase. First prize will be $2,500, 2nd prize $1,500, 3rd prize $500.
- Additionally, at the end of each calendar year, every customer who has purchased a minimum of nine (9) monthly or 20-ride tickets during that calendar year will receive a complimentary 10-ride ticket free of charge.
- Additional elements of the loyalty program will include discounts on Martz Virginia's Radio City Music Hall Christmas trip as well as discounts/giveaways for Gray Line of Washington, DC's sightseeing tours.
- Customer Referral Program
- We will include all monthly and 20-ride customers in the referral program. For each new customer who is referred to Martz Virginia by an existing monthly or 20-ride Martz commuter, a 5% rebate on the total new customer purchase amount will be issued to the current Martz commuter at the end of a six-month period. A minimum of six monthly tickets or six 20-ride tickets must be purchased. Example: A current Martz commuter refers a new monthly customer. $280 x 6 months = $1,680 x 5% = $84 rebate. This rebate may be applied to a ticket purchase or be issued to the Martz commuter. The number of customers that can be referred is unlimited.
We encourage each and every one of our commuter customers to actively participate in both of these new programs in the future and, as always, we want to thank you for your patronage and loyalty!!
